Allianz France Further Strengthens Its Support for Amateur Sports Clubs with "La Grande Équipe"

February 14, 2025 - For the second year, Allianz France is renewing and expanding its initiative La Grande Équipe, a program designed to support amateur sports clubs at the grassroots level. In collaboration with act for sport, Allianz France is launching a call for applications aimed at amateur football, basketball, and wheelchair basketball clubs. The goal: to equip 110 amateur clubs across France, benefiting 2,640 licensed players and 220 junior category volunteers (and adults for wheelchair basketball) for the 2025/26 season. This initiative reflects Allianz France's commitment to supporting amateur clubs, encouraging sports participation, and contributing to local vitality. The collaboration was initiated by SPORTFIVE, an international sports marketing agency.

A New Call for Applications to Equip 110 Amateur Clubs Nationwide

Allianz France is launching a national call for applications to equip 110 clubs:

  • 55 football clubs,

  • 45 basketball clubs, and

  • 10 wheelchair basketball clubs for the 2025/26 season.

The inclusion of amateur parasports clubs was an obvious choice, aligning with Allianz’s global strategy as an official partner of the International Paralympic Committee since 2006.

Clubs interested in participating can apply until March 7, 2025, via the website https://www.lagrandeequipe-allianz.fr/.

Allianz France will announce the 110 selected clubs on March 27, 2025, with the list published on the La Grande Équipe website. The program will provide match kits (jerseys, shorts, and socks) for two teams (one female and one male) per club, equipping 2,640 players in total.

This call for applications is open to all clubs across France, in both urban and rural areas, including overseas territories. Eligible clubs must have mixed or women’s teams, be located near an Allianz agency not supported during the first edition, and be members of a recognized federation. Only clubs with both male and female teams will be considered to ensure gender equity.

La Grande Équipe Allianz: Committed on Every Field

The partnership between Allianz France and act for sport is built on two pillars: growing with joy and passing on passion. Enjoying sports requires feeling good physically, which is why Allianz France prioritizes providing high-quality equipment for clubs, young players, and their volunteer coaches. By equipping 110 clubs, Allianz France supports amateur sports across the country, confident in the benefits of sports for physical and mental health and their role in fostering social connections.

A Distribution Network Rooted in Local Communities

Building on the success of the first La Grande Équipe season, Allianz France is renewing and expanding its support for local sports. General Agents, present across mainland France and overseas territories, play an active role in the application process and in delivering the equipment. Most agents are from the regions where their agencies operate, demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting local life.

This initiative relies on Allianz's extensive network in France, which is optimized to cover the entire country. This constantly expanding network plays a crucial role in driving territorial vitality and promotion. With over 2,600 agencies across the country and more than 10,000 agents and advisors, Allianz France ensures proximity and responsive service, meeting the needs of its more than 5 million clients nationwide.

Constance WIBLE, Brand and Communications Director at Allianz France:
"Amateur sports are an essential pillar of local life, fostering social cohesion and self-improvement. With our 10,000 agents and advisors engaged throughout France, we are deeply committed to supporting clubs that bring this energy to life daily in their communities.
